“The best things in life are free”
If you are at a loose end for something to do this summer holiday, please pop by and have a look around the church and visit the Tea Lounge. The church is free entry, and we currently have on our ‘Summer Holiday Treat’ lunch starting at £3.25 for the children.
Birmingham City Centre has quite a few free attractions, and if you want a couple of places to visit beside the church, we’ve rounded up a list of our favourites…
The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
General admission is free, and they only charge for certain exhibitions. There’s lots to see, from the Staffordshire Hoard to the exhibit of Ancient Egypt.
The IKON Gallery
The focus at IKON gallery is contemporary art. At the moment they have exhibitions by Jesse Bruton, Kan Xuan, Patrick Killoram and Pamela Scott Wilkie.
The Library of Birmingham
The Library of Birmingham offers some great views across the city, the Shakespeare Memorial Room, and a great selection of books to peruse.
Eastside City Park
The park is a lovely green area in the centre of the city, where you can relax and watch the world go by; there’s a play area for toddlers too.
If you are interested in Birmingham’s churches, it’s worth going to have a look around the cathedral. On certain days they offer free guided tours.
BBC Public Space
Here you can have a sneak peek into some of the BBC studios, and have a go at pretending to be a news presenter!
We hope you have a lovely holidays.
