Treat yourself to a sausage roll

“To win the people, always cook them some savoury that pleases them”

 Aristophanes

Earlier in the blog, we had a closer look at the cheese toastie, as we are launching our new specials menu in the Tea Lounge. We also have sausage rolls on the menu! Sausage rolls go back as far as the classical Greek and Roman times so it’s definitely a snack with a bit of history. Nowadays, one of the most popular places to buy a sausage roll is Greggs’; they sell around 2.5 million a week or 40 million a year! For some people though, one Greggs’ sausage roll just doesn’t cut it. In 2005, in South Africa, the world’s longest sausage roll measure 111.11 m broke the Guinness world record. Whilst we can’t make any such claims with our sausage rolls, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do! If you have any suggestions for items you would like to see on the Tea lounge menu in the future we would love to hear from you!
