In the Tea Lounge, we like to be able to customise our hot drinks, especially with the addition of flavoured syrups. As standard, we stock both vanilla and caramel syrups, but add to range with seasonal syrups throughout the year. The latest addition to our range is amaretto syrup (please note that this isn’t alcoholic!), and also gingerbread syrup- our favourite drink is adding a shot of amaretto syrup into hot chocolate, and finishing with whipped cream!
Looking further ahead, we have recently been experimenting with eggnog syrup, which we will be launching on the 5th November, to coincide with our bonfire night specials menu. Eggnog is new to a few of us working in the Tea Lounge, and is ‘historically also known as milk punch or egg milk punch, is a rich, chilled, sweetened, creamy dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk and/or cream, sugar, whipped eggs’ (Wikipedia, 2016). It is a popular tradition in North America, and we hope it will prove to be a hit in the Tea Lounge! The eggnog syrup is very sweet, and really compliments the bitterness of our coffees.
Our Amaretto and Eggnog syrups are made by Sweetbird (http://hellosweetbird.com/products/syrups/). They are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, and have no GMOs or artificial ingredients. We really hope you enjoy them as much as we do and have fun customizing your hot drinks with us!
